Client Assessment

WebABLLS is the electronic version of the ABLLS-R with convenient features and functions available only in this web-based platform. WebABLLS is designed for use with learners on the autism spectrum, language delays, or other developmental disabilities. When implemented in conjunction with comprehensive programming, learners acquire the ability to learn from their everyday experiences while educators, parents, and professionals are empowered to share data and strategies that enhance collaboration across all learning environments.

This assessment can be used by educators, clinicians, and parents to facilitate the identification of skills needed by their learners to communicate effectively and learn from everyday experiences. Using the assessment the user is able to develop a comprehensive, custom, language-based curriculum. Throughout the learner’s program, the periodic assessment updates provide a platform to measure progress and determine subsequent priorities to ensure continual development and progress.

There are three assessment edit modes – select the one that works for you:

Text Mode resembles the print version of the ABLLS-R® Protocol
Grid Mode resembles the skills tracking grids of the Protocol
Cat Mode (short for category) is another format offered to accommodate scoring from a smaller screen, tablet, or smart phone by displaying individual categories of the assessment in the grid style

The criterion-referenced assessment within WebABLLS provides a comprehensive review of 544 skills from 25 skill areas including language, social interaction, self-help, academic, and motor skills. The task items within each skill area are arranged from simpler to more complex tasks. Expressive language skills are assessed based on the behavioral analysis of language as presented by Dr. B.F. Skinner in his book, Verbal Behavior (1957).

Progress Tracking

A key feature within WebABLLS is the ability to track a learner’s progress over time. Tracking is built into the system – automatic and simple.

Tracking begins as the first checkbox is clicked. Each assessment period is color coded providing a simple visual marker related to the assessment date. Behind the color-coded grid, WebABLLS tags the score with information about each score – even the learner’s age is calculated automatically.

The Skills Tracking System has been designed to allow for each skill area to be measured and analyzed for the degree of acquisition. Analysis of this information provides the base for building the foundation for what to teach and when to move forward.

Reports

WebABLLS is the electronic version of the ABLLS-R with convenient features and functions available only in this web-based platform. WebABLLS is designed for use with learners on the autism spectrum, language delays, or other developmental disabilities. When implemented in conjunction with comprehensive programming, learners acquire the ability to learn from their everyday experiences while educators, parents, and professionals are empowered to share data and strategies that enhance collaboration across all learning environments.

Report functions within WebABLLS give the user a variety of choices in creating reporting documents that correlate directly with the learner’s assessment scores.

Reports can be shared via WebABLLS or converted to PDF to print or distribute electronically. Several reports can be downloaded to a CSV file, allowing further customization or conversion to an alternative format. The Print to PDF feature includes options to include or omit report Notes related to a Program Worksheet or Progress Report.

Teaching Tips

Successful teaching includes knowing both what to teach and how to teach. Using the tools within WebABLLS assists the user in determining what to teach. An analysis of the Skills Tracking Grid leads to identifying next steps, which in turn, generates a report related to the assessment. All of these steps merge together, and the “what to teach” begins to evolve.

Once the “what to teach” has been identified, the user has access to over 200 video demonstrations related to specific tasks within WebABLLS. There is a Tool Kit with resources for download; language lists, normative data related to research of typically-developing children, a reinforcer survey, and much more.

In addition, QuickTips is now available exclusively to WebABLLS users! QuickTips is a series of seven Behavioral Teaching Strategies created from the content of Behavior Analysts, Inc.’s internal trainings.
